   Flexible New Deal

The Government’s Flexible New Deal (FND) programme will be starting in Wolverhampton in October.

This exciting new programme aims to help more than 200,000 long-term unemployed people into work each year throughout the UK.

After 12 months of unemployment, jobseekers will be referred to a specialist company by Jobcentre Plus to help prepare them for work, removing barriers and securing sustainable employment. The approach is based on a personalised and proactive journey which will be unique to the individual’s needs providing tailored employment and skills support to both the jobseeker and local employers.

The Flexible New Deal aims to help 50,000 jobseekers back to work in the Black Country through a personalised service over the next five years.

We are currently in very challenging economic times, which means, now more than ever, many people in Wolverhampton will require the support to find sustainable employment.

By working in partnership with local employers, the Flexible New Deal will be able to provide potential ‘job ready’ employees with the right skills and continued support to the individual and the business through those vital first months.

Pat McFadden MP said, “For Wolverhampton and Bilston, Jobs and Skills are the key issues. The Flexible New Deal is a great initiative which I hope will help many people get back to work.”
